Oral and maxillofacial surgery requires additional years of hospital-based surgical and anesthesia training after graduation from dental school. As an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Hoffrichter manages a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth, jaws and facial regions. Dr. Hoffrichter practices a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from dental implant surgery and wisdom tooth removal to corrective jaw surgery.
A native of suburban Philadelphia, Dr. Hoffrichter completed his bachelors degree at the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he graduated in 1991. After finishing his four years of dental training at the New York University College of Dentistry in 1995, he continued on to pursue specialty training in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC, and surrounding area hospitals. Upon completion of his residency training in 1999, Dr. Hoffrichter moved to Newport, Rhode Island, to accept an associate position in private practice. In late 2000, he moved back to Maryland, where he lives in Frederick County with his wife, Barri, their children,Andie and Adam, and their cat, Freddy.
A native speaker of English, Dr. Hoffrichter is also fluent in Spanish and American Sign Language.
