Reminders for Your Driver
Your friend or family member will be undergoing a minor surgical
procedure in our office, and has made the decision to have an
intravenous anesthetic. Thank you for volunteering your time
to assist our patient. Your job is an important one, and we
do not take it lightly. We would like to take this opportunity
to explain some of the requirements that we have with respect
to the driver who escorts the patient.
- All driver escorts must be at least 18 years of age and
carry a valid driver’s license. For minor patients,
the driver must be a parent or legal guardian.
- You are expected to remain on the premises during the entire
procedure. You will not be able to run any errands during
treatment. You are welcome to bring something with you to
help occupy your time. For most procedures, you should expect
to be in the office for up to two hours.
- You are welcome to bring coffee or other beverages with
you, but we do ask you not to bring in any food, as a courtesy
to other patients. Please be aware that there are no vending
machines in the medical complex or within walking distance
from our office.
- Please be aware that, due to the sensitive nature of our
anesthesia monitoring equipment, we do not allow the use of
cell phones or other wireless communication devices in our
office. Please turn your phone off upon arrival. We will remind
you to turn it back on as you leave.
